A Caliga (plural: Caligae), informally known as a shadow bender, is an underworlder capable of bending something informally known as Shadows. They control darkness, but differently from people who bend light, they don't control the absence of it. The "darkness", shadows etc. is actually a sort of void that exists without anything (light, warmth, air etc.). Being emcompassed in it is lethal.

Similar to many underworld species, caligae's domain is comparable to benders'. They are among the many groups that are lowkey thought of "informal benders". The first known caliga is Curjo.
